Hello everyone. Enza here to share a new layout with you today. I have said this before, but I cannot get enough of finding ways to create added dimension and texture on my pages. I usually use cut files to achieve that goal, but I would like to show you another technique I love. The beautiful floral print in the Recorded collection drew my attention for this purpose.
To begin, I created my background by repeating the floral element on opposite corners of the page. With an X-acto knife, I then started cutting the outline of the orchids, just enough so I could lift them. I picked a soft pink cardstock to back my page, as it matched perfectly one of the colors in some of the branches. To make sure all the petals kept that dimension, I adhered them down with foam dots. A little touch of watercolor paint was used to add a little bit of color.
I also doubled up on some of the flowers to add an extra layer of dimension.
Next, I worked on building layers behind my photo with different patterned papers from the collection. The two main clusters include some of my favorite elements, such as flowers, which I printed on vellum for a softer look, sweet sentiments and the delicate bow.
Some black foam elements from my stash finished the layout.
I hope you are inspired to give this technique a try and build more texture and dimension on your pages.
Have a lovely day!
