Hello! Another month has passed. I hope you had a fulfilling scrappy September thus far. I was recently flipping through my almost completed travel album and saw some favourite techniques that I used throughout the album.
#01 – Creating your own filler card using digital elements.
Apart from labels and flags, I seldom use the layers that comes from a digital kit since I’m a pocket hybrid scrapbooker. But the colors in Crisp Collection is so pretty that it inspired to make a background with these paint splatters. I layered the word brush over it and it is done! I really love it as a quick filler card. I don’t have to take out my acrylic paints and stamps to do this. No mess at all! I also love the imperfect striped chevron. I layered it with the light grey chevron to create a background for my journaling. I also added the leaves to the side for a little extra something.

#02 – Adding extra photos using alternative sized pockets.
Because there are always so many photos, so many pretty filler cards and so much journaling to include, I’m always interested to find new ways to include more photos other than using a collage. Here are two ways to do so. First, I use the simple stories photo flaps. That is an easy one. You can paste it directly to the page protector or you can also treat it as a new page itself.

Another way is to cut up an existing page protector configuration. In the below example, I cut a 4 up 3 x 4 page protector to get this landscape 2 up 3×4 page protector. In order to slot this into a ring binder, there are a few options. We can punch holes directly or we can stick a strip of pattern paper along the spine before punching the holes. Also, consider using We R Memory Keeper’s fuse tool to create unique configuration such as 3×3 pockets and etc.
#03 Printing on vellum
Last but not least is one of my favourite technique. There are several thickness of vellum . The thicker the vellum, the more vibrant and clearer the printed image will be. You can choose the thickness of the vellum base on what you are using it for. I printed this vibrant coloured flowers on a thicker vellum to tone down the colors of the flower just a little.

I also printed the diamond elements in Circus Collection and used it as an embellishment. Adding translucent elements into a transparent pocket adds an extra special touch to the project.

These are my 3 recent favourites. How about you? What are your favourite go-tos for project scrapbooking? Share them with us in the comments down below. And till next month!
