I’m in a little bit of a slump recently with my Project Life. I have not been going out much, nor doing any new things. Or should I say I have been taking lesser photos these days too? As I was pondering about what projects to make with these gorgeous new collections by Sahin Designs, I came across a ‘Notebook’ in my Evernote titled “Stories to tell”.
I started this notebook after taking some story telling / memory keeping classes online. Since then, I will jot down notes in there once I thought of a certain theme to scrapbook. From “Favorite chocolate” to “Things we talk about over Dinner”, or from personalities to conversations. All sort of stories are kept in there. I thought this will be an occasion to make good use the collection’s theme to tell these stories!
With the Bookmark collection, I told stories about my thoughts and feelings on books. I printed screenshots of some e-books and audio books I read / listen to, as well as images of my physical collection of books. And this layout is done in 8.5×11 size. Love that it has four 4×4 pockets and two horizontal 3×4 pockets.
With the Project Grateful Enchanted collection, I told the story of why I love the season Autumn so so much. I printed a pile of images from my travels to Taiwan and Australia of beautiful brightly colored maple trees during the fall. Even this process of pooling photos together from over the many years has already me pleasantly happy !
With the Table For Two collection, I told the story of how much I loveeeee food. Using some of the word strips / banners as journaling prompts, and the pretty labels as journaling spots, I handwrote some of the captions for my favorite food. I included details such as where and when I had the food, and with home did I enjoy it with.
I fell in love with the process of gathering photos and telling themed stories. I’m sure some of you do too! Such projects are also a little exercise for me to break free from my weekly project life routine format too.
Hope this post inspires you to tell some themed stories with the collections here at Sahin Designs. Have a great week ahead! Till next month ~
Where did you get the layout that is done in 8.5×11 size, with the four 4×4 pockets and two horizontal 3×4 pockets? I have been searching everywhere and cant find them! Thanks.
Hi, unfortunately, I cannot remember exactly where I get them, but I’m pretty sure it’s from WRMK. And the size is 8 by 11 :) Alternatively, if you have a fuse tool, you can create this pocket design from an 8.5 x 11 full-sized page :)
