Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a wonderful beginning to the new year. As I go into my third year doing pocket scrapbooking, I’ve realized that while I love the physical feel of the craft I really enjoy how much time and money I save by doing things digitally. There are many ways and programs to keep your digital items organized but I prefer to use dropbox simply because it allows me to easily transfer files from device to device.
My front page looks as if I’ve got nothing stored. I keep 3 main folders; personal items, photos, and scrapbooking. But within each folder I have numerous smaller sub-folders to keep a neat timeline.
Photos
The best way that organizing my photos works for me is to do it by year. If I tried to organize by event, I would never find what I’m looking for. There are a few exceptions, such as all of my trips to Disneyland, photos of my cat, and family moments are kept in their own folders because they occur frequently.
Within each of the yearly folders, I keep everything by month and then by event. I love doing it this way because if I ever need to redo a layout from a particular month or catch up on my December daily (or any other mini album that I’m putting off) I can easily get exactly what I need.
Digital Scrapbook Files
After 2.5 years, my digital collection has grown significantly so I keep all of those files in their own folder. Due to the amount of items I own and how often I access everything, I created sections for all of the cards, stamps, and templates I use most often.
As you see above I have folders for all of the scrapbook classes I downloaded, a folder for all of my pdf’s of pocket cards, a master folder for all of my templates and a folder for all of my Sahin Designs collections and layouts.
While is my way of keeping sane, there are as many ways to organize your stash as there are people in the world. But hopefully you were able to pick up some good ideas and tips from this post and please let me know if you’ve got any other ideas to add!
