Hi there, Jessica here! This is my first blog post for Sahin Designs and I couldn’t be more excited to be here! Today, I’m going to show you one of my favorite techniques for using digital elements in pocket page spreads.
If you are a hybrid pocket page scrapbooker like me, don’t feel like your options are limited to the card designs. I love using the matching elements from the collection on both the cards and the photos. You can do this either digitally or by printing them out. Today, I’ll show you how to use them printed out using the Cupid collection.
- Start by opening the folder that has all your elements goodies.
- Select all or just your favorites and drop them into your photo editor of choice (I’m using Photoshop)
- Arrange each element so that they do not overlap.
- Optional: Create a light border around each element. This is helpful later when cutting. In Photoshop, you do this by going Layer -> Layer Style -> Stroke and selecting the border color. Here are my settings.
After the stroke is applied, this is what you’ll see;
- At this point, you can print here and fussy cut the designs or send them to your silhouette to print and cut
Now, the fun part! Once I have my cards and photos arranged on my layout, I spread out the elements and started playing.
Here is where you can take those elements and use them to make your own customized pocket cards.
See how I used the pink label and the forever circle embellishment on the 3×4 card? Once I knew what my title would be, I just adhered the label to the card and ran it through my printer.
That’s it! I hope you got inspired to use these beautiful elements in your pocket page spreads.
Until next time!
