Using pre-made embellishments in scrapbook layouts - Sahin Designs - Scrapbook Inspiration

Hello there! Enza back today to share a new layout with you. In my previous post, I talked about how I like to create embellishments from leftover scraps of paper. It is a time saver when it comes to make a new layout or card, and it kind of gives me ideas about the design I’m going for. For today’s page, I used a banner and a tag previously created with bits and pieces from the Table for two collection.

Since I only had two embellishments to place on my layout, I decided to create my focal point in the center. This would allow me to place banner and tag on opposite sides and give the layout a finished look. After adhering a few strips of paper from the collection on a piece of white card stock, I used my Silhouette to cut a heart. The same result can be achieved by using scissors or an X-Acto knife. To create some contrast, I also cut out an outline for the heart by using a dark piece of patterned paper.

Some craft foam was used to glue the heart in place. To achieve extra dimension, banner and tag were also backed with foam dots.

At this point, I was pretty happy with the way the layout looked. I had a few foam words in my stash that I wanted to use, so I decided to place them all around the heart to add more interest. Small wood veneer pieces, enamel dots or shapes, tiny stickers would work as well.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed reading about my process and found some useful tips for creating a fast and easy layout by using ready-to-use embellishments.
Have a lovely day!
